He showed me how to read charts, how to spot buy and sell signals, and how to work with a broker – back when you actually had to pick up the phone and call one. Those early lessons gave me a foundation I’ve built my entire career on.

He was passionate about the share market and even more passionate about teaching me how to navigate it. He showed me how to read charts, how to spot buy and sell signals, and how to work with a broker – back in the days when you actually had to pick up the phone and call one. We’d download end-of-day data into our charting software every evening, which feels like ancient history compared to the live platforms we have today.
Dad wanted me to learn to trade so I could look after my own future wealth. That idea, that financial knowledge is one of the greatest gifts you can give someone, is exactly why Trading Wise exists today.
I moved to London for three years and landed roles at two of the biggest names in global finance – Goldman Sachs in their Research department, and Morgan Stanley. It was an incredible experience that gave me a deep understanding of how financial markets really work at the highest level.
When I returned to Perth, I worked in real estate and then recruitment. It was during my time in recruitment that something struck me: so many talented women who had taken time out to raise children were struggling to get back into the workforce. I was engaged, planning a family of my own, and I made a decision – I was going to build my own financial security through trading so I’d never be in that position.
I studied hard and earned my Diploma in Share Trading and Investment. I got married and had two kids. And somewhere in the middle of all of that, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and went through six months of chemotherapy.
Being diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma while raising young children was one of the hardest things I've ever faced. But I got through it and ten years later I am completely recovered and healthier than ever. That experience taught me that life is too short to put off building the future you want. It's part of why I believe so strongly in helping people take control of their own financial future. You never know what's around the corner.
Once my kids were old enough for school, a chance meeting with Frank Watkins changed the direction of my career. Frank is a highly respected trader and author with decades of experience and he offered me a role at ProTrader, his charting software company. I started out in sales and quickly moved onto the trading desk. I obtained my RG146 qualification in 2018 and have been educating people how to trade alongside Frank ever since.
These days I trade the ASX and the US market, manage my own Self-Managed Super Fund (which is performing very well, thank you) and spend my days doing what I genuinely love – helping people discover that trading is more accessible than they ever imagined.
One of my biggest trading lessons came courtesy of Dad - who I love dearly, but who has always had a habit of "marrying" his stocks. He once told me not to sell a 20-cent stock because it was going to reach $5.00. I was sitting $20,000 in profit. I held on. The stock never reached $5.00 and I watched that $20,000 gain disappear.

I live in Perth with my wonderful husband and two incredible kids - a 17-year-old son and a 15-year-old daughter who keep me on my toes with their sport and music talents. When I'm not watching charts I'm probably planning a camping trip, fishing, eating somewhere delicious, or figuring out where in the world we're going next. Life is good and I genuinely believe that financial confidence plays a big part in that.
I’ve watched people glaze over in a workshop because I used four words they didn’t understand in the first sentence. I don’t do that anymore – abbreviations get introduced slowly, and on purpose.
I’ve sat in rooms where people assumed I didn’t know what I was talking about. I did. Twenty-eight years, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley – and I still explain everything twice if you need me to.
